Spark Infrastructure’s existing investment portfolio comprises a 49% interest in each of SA Power Networks, CitiPower and Powercor, three of the leading electricity distribution businesses in Australia; and a 15.01% interest in NSW’s electricity transmission business TransGrid.

Spark Infrastructure’s current portfolio consists of a number of significant investments in high quality regulated utilities.

  • SA Power Networks is South Australia’s only significant electricity distributor, delivering electricity to around 847,000 customers over an area of approximately 178,200 square kilometres. SA Power Network is one of the largest infrastructure businesses in South Australia.

  • CitiPower is the owner and manager of the electricity distribution network servicing Melbourne’s central business district (CBD) and inner suburbs, delivering electricity to nearly 323,000 customers.

  • Powercor Australia (Powercor) is the owner and manager of the largest electricity distribution network in Victoria, delivering electricity to approximately 757,000 customers across 65% of the State.

  • The other 51% interest in each of SA Power Networks, CitiPower and Powercor is held by Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI) and Power Assests Holdings (PAH), which are part of the Cheung Kong Group.

  • TransGrid is the owner and operator of the NSW high voltage electricity network, connecting generators, distributors and major end users across the state. Through its high voltage network it connects more than 3 million homes and businesses across NSW and the ACT to the electricity grid .

  • Spark Infrastructure holds a 15.01% equity interest in TransGrid as part of the “NSW Electricity Networks” consortium which acquired the 99 year lease from the NSW Government in December 2015.

  • Spark Infrastructure’s portfolio also includes an interest in DUET Group.
